Au Jus

Add your rough chopped onion and saved onion scraps to a sauce pot with water. If you do not have enough scraps substitute another onion. Add Maggi. Add the Beef base. Add a little worcesterhire sauce. Add 1 cup of wine and stir well. Add the cornstarch and water slurry (about 2tbspoon cornstarch to 1 cup of water and stirred well). Cover and reduce 5 minutes.

  • 1 White Onion
  • Onion Scraps (about 1 cup of water per
  • whole onion scrap, i.e. both ends and the
  • skin)
  • Maggi (optional)
  • 1 Tblspoon of Beef Base
  • worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup red wine
  • cornstarch
